All LIt Up

All Lit Up. This was taken just east of Fort Collins CO at Timnath Reservoir. In the winter months of Colorado, the sunrises are most spectular and this one was really enjoyable. You can see the reservior was mostly frozen and the ice ridges are on the edge of the lake. I was the only one at the reservoir that morning so i was able to see a beautiful, peaceful, colorful sunrise all by myself.

Geyser Sunrise

i went out to shoot early morning in Yellowstone, i was driving by the West Thumb Geyser Basin. The color of the sunrise just started to hit the clouds. The cloud cover along with the still waters in the lake and a geyser just in front of the lake provide a beautiful reason to watch the sunrise. Even though i didn't make it to Lamer Valley that morning, it was worth it.

Rainbow Falls at Yellowstone

In the morning at the Upper Falls of the Yellowstone River, a rainbow can be seen from the water mist coming off the falls and the sun behind. A beautiful early August morning allowed me to capture this rainbow and you can see a hint of a second rainbow as well. Well worth the effort to get up and get there. Wild Harebell

Wild Harebell. During the 2011 Bike Ride from Banff to Jackson in end of July and early August, the wildflowers were out in full bloom. There were many varieties and the Harebell was one of the most visible of all of them. Many were blue in color this one was slightly different.

Jump Start

Caught this Egret NE of Jacksonville Florida near the Big Talbot Island State Park. There were a flock in the low lands and i was able to catch this bird just starting its flight.

Colorful Ponte Vecchio

Colorful Ponte Vecchio. I was on a trip in Italy at the time of the year where the sunset straight down the Arno River. Many people wanted to see the sunset from the old bridge in Florence but i wanted to photo the bridge so i went to the one closest. The sunset was behind me in this photo but the colors were magical this night. you can see the color in the clouds from the reflection from the river. it was a very colorful night.

Box Canyon Sunset

Ouray, Colorado is a town that is almost surrounded by mountains. This photo is overlooking Ouray, Colorado at sunset and looking towards the way out of the box canyon. Ouray is in the San Juan mountains of Colorado and is a beautiful town in a beautiful setting. This is a great destination to visit om Colorado.

Red River Valley Storm

I was in the beautiful Red River Valley just outside of Grafton, ND. There was a big beautiful cloud that blocked the sunset but created some nice looks. I decided to go a little bit crazy and use HDR to get the full impact of the clouds, the green crops, the sun's rays and the wet fields.

Close to the finish

My favorite lone tree has died and some of the branches are starting to break away after wet snow storms. Today's sunrise was without clouds so i used a 100-400 zoom lens to only capture the tree in the orange shade of the sky just before the sun comes up.

Old Barn Sunrise

Another beautiful December sunrise in Colorado. This is an old barn part of a small farm on the outskirts of Fort Collins. The City is moving in and around the old farm. I wanted to capture this before it "Reduced to parking spaces" (stolen from The Pretenders My City Was Gone).

Colorado Front Range Fall Color Sunrise

Along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, there is a small clump of trees that stands alone in the Cathy Fromme National Prairie Area. This is the peak of the fall colors for these trees and the sunrise was beautiful this morning. This is an HDR image to be able to see the colors of the sunrise along with the colors of the leaves.
