Columbine Cluster. This photo was taken at Yankee Boy Basin just outside of Ouray, CO. The Columbine is the Colorado State Flower and can be found all over the moutains during end of June and early July. The cluster caught my eye with the wonderful blue color and the yellow. Yankee Boy Basin is at about 10,000 feet and was burstiing with wildflowers this week.
Flight of the Bumble Bee. I was in RMNP trying to capture the elusive wildflower, mountain, blue sky photo. I was in this patch of Rocky Mountain Loco Weed wildflowers when i was buzzed by a bumble bee. This was a big bee. I followed him around which wasn't easy and captured a number of photos. Getting the bee in focus was difficult as he was flying around.
