Slough Creek

In the Yellowstone backcountry, Slough Creek is on the northeast end of the park. We spent a couple of nights and saw a lot of animals including grizzly bears, wolves, elk and mosse. This was a sunrise photo of the creek in the meadows surrounded by the mountains in southern Montana and Wyoming.

as the sun started to rise, a fog rolled into the valley. We could watch as it quickly filled the valley and came up to where i was shooting

Rainbow Falls at Yellowstone

In the morning at the Upper Falls of the Yellowstone River, a rainbow can be seen from the water mist coming off the falls and the sun behind. A beautiful early August morning allowed me to capture this rainbow and you can see a hint of a second rainbow as well. Well worth the effort to get up and get there. Geyser Sunrise

i went out to shoot early morning in Yellowstone, i was driving by the West Thumb Geyser Basin. The color of the sunrise just started to hit the clouds. The cloud cover along with the still waters in the lake and a geyser just in front of the lake provide a beautiful reason to watch the sunrise. Even though i didn't make it to Lamer Valley that morning, it was worth it.

Lower Falls

Only a quarter mile from the Upper Falls, the Lower Falls drops 308 feel. This is at Artist Point between 1-2 hours after sunrise and shows the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. .

Walk in Fields of Gold.

My last day in Yellowstone, i found a field of wildflowers. The wildflowers on the entire trip were spectacular but this field near the Dunraven Pass in Yellowstone was the best. There were wildflowers all over (Heartleaf Arnica). This was so special i decided to skip the Lamar Valley this trip.
