During the summer, we see a number of lightning storms come from the front range foothills and out on the Colorado plains. In Fort Collins, this typically means it starts near horsetooth rock and reseervior. This night i captured a number of lightning sticks but it was unusual since the storm was heading south instead of east.
Photo was taken at Horsetooth Reservoir just outside of Fort Collins, Colorado. The Sunset turned into a full sky event. There was a small ice piece with a dead branch on it. found it was a nice place to shoot.
A frozen Horsetooth Reservoir at sunset. This tree is sitting on a hill above the reservoir. At the time i was taking the photo, there was a lot of ice movement and loud sounds.
