Colorado Full Moon

I took this near a farm in Northern Colorado -- about 10 miles southeast of Ft Collins. The moonrise coincided with the orange and blue Dolorado sunset. It resulted in some beautiful colors. i wasn't happy with the clouds at the start but the moon peaked above the clouds at the time the sun went down.

Rainbow Down On The Farm. I captured the Rainbow near Loveland, Colorado. It was a typical Colorado afternoon rainshower that turned into a beautiful rainbow. This was taken at the end of September.

Hays River Falls

Driving along CO hiway 133 and ran across this nice waterfall next to the road. It was flowing into the Crystal River. Very cool little waterfall.

Ouray; Cascade Falls; Colorado; waterfall

This whows the entire waterfall seen in the town of Ouray called Cascade Falls. I took this photo at the end of June 2010 when the run off of the snow melt is still pretty strong. Ouray, Colorado is a small town in a box canyon surrounded by moutains expect one way out. This falls is just a copule of blocks from the main street in Ouray. This is the bottom of a 175 foot waterfall.

Reflection

This was taken with a wider angle lens then the other shot. If you look at the shadows they are converging at the end of the lake. Shortly after this photo, the sun come up over the hills east to light up the entire valley. This is a very beautiful spot and i was blessed with no wind. Maroon Bells is just outside of Aspen, Colorado and no i didn't see any celebraties up early taking photos.

Spring Time Melt

he Boulder Brook in Rocky Mountain National Park is coming out of the winter. The park just recevied a large May snowstorm but with May comes weather to start the spring melt.

Boulder Brook Rapids

In RMNP this brook ran around some large rocks. It is a pretty mountain stream. After a large rainstorm in 2014, this was swept away.

Small Falls

Taken in RMNP in early October, the running of the water around the rocks was nice with a little hint of the upcoming winter with some small areas of ice.

The Boulder Brook taken in October just before the freeze and the fall when the snowmelt is done.

Falling Brook

This is one of my favorite spots in RMNP just off the road up to Bear Lake. This is called Boulder Brook and this was taken last weekend of September when the Aspen colors are at the peak. Although the sun hadn't come up over the trees yet, i used a polarizer filter to help slow down the shutter speed and make the water blur. it is a beautiful spot for a fall photo. 0961

Rocky Mountain Color

This is taken in RMNP. The mountain Peak is called Hallet's Peak and it is near Bear Lake, a popular destination for visitors to TMNP. The ASPEN trees are just starting to turn a golden color as fall approaches.

Moutain Aspen

Mountain Aspen. This is taken at Morraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park. The leaves were changing over and the sun was just starting to hit the top of the mountian. It was taking in early October.

Light on the Golden Aspen

Golden Aspen Near Maroon Bells. More fall colors in Colorado. This grow of aspen trees was near Maroon Bells Park outside of Aspen. It was an mostly cloudy day and i was lucky to get the sun to come out of the clouds and hit this little area and lit it up. In Colorado, the Apsen trees paint the side of the mountains in a golden yellow during the fall. A beautiful time of the year.

Looking Up

The fall in Colorado means the aspen trees in the mountains change to a wonderful yellow. The hills become alive with the colorful yellow trees. This was in Rocky Mountain National Park and found this nice set of aspens showing off their color on a beautiful blue sky day.

Ice Cold Sunrise

Ice Cold Sunrise. I found a new reservoir to shoot just east of Fort Collins, Timnath Reservoir. I was there to see another beautiful sunrise in Colorado. This reservoir has some impressive ice ridges that formed on the shoreline from the frozen lake. This is one of the ice ridges that created a nice little sculpture. I had to get very low to get the sun in the circle of the ice ridge.

All LIt Up

All Lit Up. This was taken just east of Fort Collins CO at Timnath Reservoir. In the winter months of Colorado, the sunrises are most spectular and this one was really enjoyable. You can see the reservior was mostly frozen and the ice ridges are on the edge of the lake. I was the only one at the reservoir that morning so i was able to see a beautiful, peaceful, colorful sunrise all by myself.

Garden of the Gods Moon

Garden of the Gods Moon. I was in Colorado Springs and drove up for sunrise photos at the Garden of the Gods. The full moon was setting at the time of the sunrise. Getting the shot between the rocks took a lot of moving around and a lot of photos. Amazing how quickly the moon moves.

Coming Out Of The Fog

Coming Out Of The Fog. This was taken on the high plains of eastern Colorado. They had a nice snow fall that created a heavy fog. I was able to get the photograph of the tree as the sun was breaking out of the fog. you can see the sky above the tree is mostly clear but fog is still hugging the ground. The effect was very nice.
