Just outside of Aspen, Colorado, a very overcast day but a sliver of light came thru the clouds and hit a small grove of aspen trees. This spotlight provided strong contrast with the mountains behind it and the sku. i tried to take a number of photos both landscape and portrait before i got the right look.
These 7 Aspen tree leaves had fallen on a dark piece of wood providing a striking contrast to the bright yellow of the leaves.
